Manchester United's pursuit of Gareth Bale is pointless according to
Rene Meulensteen, who thinks the Welshman is keen to stay at Real Madrid
for as long as possible.
“It was a dream move for him to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and other world class players. He’s very happy where he is and it would be very difficult to tempt him away.”
Bale is in his second season with Los Blancos, having clinched both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey last year, scoring in both finals.
The former United assistant said "I’m not sure Gareth Bale wants to leave Real Madrid yet. You can see it in his performances."
The
Red Devils have been linked with a move to bring the world's most
expensive player back to the Premier League, with Bale reportedly
finding it hard to settle in the Spanish capital.
